Question
I have seen a shaikh performing Salaat whilst looking in the Mushaf (a copy of the Qur'aan). Is this permissible?
Answer
According to the Hanafi Math -hab which we follow, Salaat will not be valid if one recites by looking in the Mushaf. If you are a Hanafi, then you should not join the Salaat. In the Hambali Math-hab it is permissible.
