What is the difference between a born non-Muslim and a murtad?

There is a vast difference between a born kaafir and a murtad. One has to display good moral conduct to even a kaafir. But one has to sever ties from a murtad. It is not permissible to socialize with a murtad. In a true Islamic state, a born kaafir is allowed to live freely whilst a murtad will be executed if he does not repent and return to Islam. If the murtad is a woman, she will be jailed and kept in jail until she repents and returns to Islam or until she perishes in jail.
