A Mufti says that the quickest way of reaching Allah Ta'ala is via the Sunnah.

Perhaps the Mufti Sahib meant the same thing but worded the matter incorrectly. The ONLY way of reaching Allah Ta'ala is via the Sunnah. The quickest way is beyond our ability. The quickest and shortest way is complete renunciation of the dunya in the manner in which the Auliya of former times practised. But we are too weak for such an austere way. Only those whom Allah Ta'ala draws unto Himself are able to totally renounce the dunya and all relationships. For us – the masses – the Shariah and the Sunnah are the only way.
