The only prayer oil available in the prison has been blessed by the Catholic Church. Is it permissible for Muslims to use such prayer oil?
Answer
In Islam there is no such thing as 'prayer oil'. It is not permissible to use the 'prayer oil' blessed by the Christian church. It is haraam to use such 'prayer oil'. It is Masnoon (an act of Sunnah) to use perfumed oil especially on Fridays. It must furthermore, be alcohol free.
