Is it permissible to forego the Sunnatul Muakkadah Salaat on a journey?

Normally, i.e. when not on a journey, abstention from Sunnatul Muakkadah is sinful. While abstaining on a journey is not sinful, it is not intelligent to deprive oneself of the immense thawaab of Sunnatul Muakkadah when all conveniences for performing it are available. In terms of the Aakhirah, abstention from Sunnatul Muakkadah even on occasions when not sinful, will be deprivation and a great loss.
