The house in which we are living belongs to my father.

Question

The house in which we are living belongs to my father. He bought it with a loan acquired from a bank. He is still paying the interest on this property. Is this house halaal? Will the heirs inherit it?

Answer

The house is not haraam. The interest paid is haraam and a grave sin. All the heirs of your father will inherit in the house. The same applies to all assets purchased on interest. While the interest which is paid is haraam, the assets are halaal. However, if the asset is purchased with interest or any other haraam money, then it will be haraam.
