What can one do if in the saff is a musalli who smells strongly of cigarettes? He disturbs those alongside him with the stench emitted by his body and clothes. Is it permissible to consciously avoid standing alongside him?
Answer
Yes, it is permissible to avoid standing behind the stinking lout. Even the Malaaikah flee from such a stinking person. A man who reeks of tobacco should first take ghusl and perfume himself. Only then should he come to the Musjid. It is haraam to come to the Musjid stinking like a devil and disturbing the musallis.
