Question
According to Salafis, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) did not perform Taraaweeh. The 8 raka'ts which he performed was Tahajjud, not Taraaweeh.
Answer
Salafis claim that Taraweeh is the same as Tahajjud, yet they perform 8 raka'ts Taraaweeh. Their argument is devoid of Shar'i basis. In Fatawa Rahimiyyah and in numerous kutub and articles, the Ulama have debunked in detail this baseless notion of the ghair muqallideen.
