Question
My post natal bleeding lasted for more than 40 days. How should I calculate my nifaas period?
Answer
Should the bleeding exceed 40 days, and if you had given birth before, then the number of your last nifaas days will be the number of nifaas days for the present nifaas. For example, if your nifaas on your previous occasion was 22 days, then your nifaas for the present will also be 22 days if the bleeding is more than 40 days. However, if this is the first birth, and the bleeding is more than 40 days, then 40 days will be your nifaas. At the end of the 40th day ghusl is Wajib.
