Question
The Barelwis have customs such as the third and fourth day or the fortieth day khatams. For the dead. Are their duas and Qur'aan recitals on these occasions accepted?
Answer
These customs are haraam acts of Bid'ah. Instead of acceptance and reward, Bid'ah invites Allah's punishment.
