According to Islam does the sun revolves around some celestial body or is it stationary?

According to the Qur'aan Majeed the sun has movement. Whether this movement is rotatory or revolutionary is unknown to us. Allah knows best. The Qur'aan and Sunnah do not deal with the details of such matters. The Qur'aan is the Book of hidaayat, not of mundane sciences.
