Absa Bank's Islamic division offers a range of Shariah compliant deals. Please comment on Ab-sa's Islamic finance.
Answer
All banks, whether Muslim owned or otherwise, operate haraam 'islamic' banking systems. ABSA's so-called 'islamic' banking is haraam. There is no such creature as 'shariah compliant'. If one is compelled to open a banking account, it should be at a non-Muslim bank.
