Question
During Athaan the Muath-thin recites: Wa ash-hadu-anna Muhammadur….. What is the status of the Athaan with the added 'WA'?
Answer
The added 'Wa' in Athaan does not invalidate the Athaan. But it is improper and in conflict with the Sunnah. If someone does so intentionally then he will be guilty of the serious sin of violating the Sunnah.
