Question
Some Muslims in prison offer Salaam and respond to the Salaam of members of the Nation of Islam sect. What is the Shariah's ruling?
Answer
If a man is not aware of the beliefs of a deviant sect and he believes them to be Muslim, he will be justified to offer Salaam and to respond to their Salaam. But it will not be permissible for those who are aware of the explicit beliefs of kufr of the deviant group called 'Nation of Islam'.
