Should Hanafis lift their hands with each Takbeer in Janaazah Salaat? At what point should the hands be lowered?
Answer
Hanafis should lift their hands only with the first Takbeer of Janaazah Salaat, not with the other Takbirs. However, Shaafis are required to lift their hands. After the 4th Takbeer and before the Salaam, the hands should be lowered and left at the sides.
