My brother took a false oath. He knew that he was lying. What is the compensation for this oath?
Answer
The oath your brother took is called Yameen Ghamoos which is an oath on a known falsity. For such oaths, the expiation is not the normal Kaffaarah. It is repentance. He should make Taubah.
