Is a Qiraa't/Qur'aan competition permissible?
Answer
Qur'aan/Qiraa't competitions are not permissible. These competitions are among the lesser signs of Qiyaamah. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The majority of the munaafiqeen of my Ummah are its qaaris." Such competitions are stunts organized for cheap name and fame.
