What are the rules regarding a wild animal hunted and shot with a bullet?

If an animal is shot with a bullet, then the only way it will be halaal is to make Thabah of it if it is found alive. If it is found dead, then it is haraam carrion. If the animal is shot with an arrow and if at the time of releasing the arrow, the Tasmiyah is recited, then the animal will be halaal even if found dead. However, if the hunter reaches it whilst it is still alive, then Thabah is obligatory.
